I met Romney Saliba some 30 years ago at a moving sale and bought an unusual antique writing desk he had beautifully restored. I really enjoyed finding great old furniture for our home but knew nothing about refinishing. Romney said he really loved to restore fine furniture and that is how our friendship began. Between antique furniture pieces I bought here and there and pieces I later inherited from my parents and grandparents, Romney took great pride in beautifully restoring and refinishing nearly everything in our home. Whether parts were broken or missing, rotted or falling apart, many times painted over or whatever, I found nothing Romney couldn’t fix. My wife and I cherish each and every piece Romney has done for us and his work has stood the test of daily use over time. Over the years, we have referred many of our friends to Romney and they all have been excited about work he has done for them. If you are looking for someone you can trust and who really cares about doing things right, I strongly recommend Romney.

The work Romney Saliba does is absolutely exceptional! I brought him what was basically a pile of wood that at one time was a beautiful family heirloom, a settee from the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. He was actually able to tell me more about this piece of furniture than I already knew. He brings a well rounded knowledge of furniture along with him as he meticulously restores various pieces of furniture. I wasn’t sure what he would be able to do to repair and restore this piece of furniture, but the outcome was stunning. The workmanship is flawless and detail oriented. Romney was able to take a pile of wood and turn it back into the cherished family heirloom lost so many years ago. That was over three years ago, and it is by far the most beautiful piece of furniture in our home. The time Romney took to restore this piece of furniture to its original integrity means I will be able to hand this down as a family heirloom for years to come!

Artist. Professional. Compassionate. Thorough. Committed. These are just a few words to describe Romney Saliba. He has rebuilt several pieces of furniture for us. He refinished a beautiful jewelry box, rebuilt and refinished an inlaid ornate end table, and a gorgeous cedar chest for our newborn twins. He far surpassed our expectations of detail and quality in refinishing these pieces for us. He is a true artist of wood working and puts his heart and soul in to each piece.
One example of how he exceeded our expectations was the end table had ivory inlaid in it. Several of the ivory pieces were missing. My Late Grandfather was a piano turner, and I had pieces of ivory keys left to me by him. Romney came up with the idea of inlaying my Grandfather’s ivory pieces into our end table. The table means more to us than anything.

I met Romney Saliba in 1979 through an associate in the antique business. I had recently retired from air traffic control and had opened my own antique shop, specializing in furniture and home accents. I thought my antique furniture restoration was the best in town until I saw Romney’s work. His general knowledge of antiques, and most importantly, his attention to detail and quality in everything from joinery and repair and finishes, to classic and historic home restorations is superior to anything else I’ve seen. I started referring my “hard to please clients” right away and, after retiring again, I referred all of my clients to Romney. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews from everyone.
If you want it done right, Saliba is your man! Over the last fifteen years, Mr. Saliba has restored, preserved, repaired or refinished most of our family’s heirloom antique furniture. Everything from dining room to bedroom furniture in such poor condition, I thought beyond hope. I’ve done a lot of looking around in antique and repair shops and I’ve never found anything that compares to the quality of Saliba’s work.

After she passed away, my Grandmother’s dining table & chairs, buffet, parlor table and rocking chair were stored in the basement of her old house for two years before our new home was built. When we went to move these heirlooms into our new dream home, we discovered that the old basement had flooded. The legs on the tables and chairs and the rockers on Grammy’s rocker had rotted. There was mold and everything was falling apart. I was devastated and sure that everything was a total loss! The owner of a local antique mall told me about Mr. Saliba. She said that she had never seen anything that Mr. Saliba could not restore. I was skeptical about how furniture so badly damaged could ever be restored, but Mr. Saliba described what could be done and assured me that I would not be disappointed. Wow! I couldn’t hold back the tears of joy! Not only was everything repaired, but also each piece was totally rebuilt by hand from scratch and finished to perfection. Grammy’s furniture looked even better than I remembered it from my childhood. Mr. Saliba is a true artist.
